For many years Chester's town-wide events have attracted residents as well as visitors from near and far. Listed here are the most well-attended and well-known annual events. After 27 years, our Winter Carnivale grew so popular, with several thousand attendees, that the event simply outgrew the space available in our small town. We miss the event as much as all of you do!.
About this time we throw open our doors to the warm evenings. Come stroll the streets and shops to peruse the latest art, craft, fashion and furnishings. And look for special menus in the restaurants.
The parade kicks off at 9 am at the War Memorial on Route 154. With a stop and gathering at the Flag Pole in the Village Center with tributes and music by the Elementary School Band, the parade concludes at the Old Meeting House with refreshments provided by the Chester Hose Co.
Our annual Town-Wide Tag Sale is always the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. 8 am–3 pm. Come find treasures on the Village sidewalks and shops as well as in residents' yards and houses all throughout the town. Printed maps will be available on the day of the sale for $1!
July 4th. Starts at 9 am sharp. Chester Rotary, USTAF-sanctioned four-mile road race through scenic downtown Chester. Chip timing, refreshments, live music, T-shirts. A fun event for the whole family! Register 7–8:30 am on race
